All Five Referendum Proposals PASS by a Landside--95% For; Only 5% Against!
At about 5:00 PM, March 29, 2025, the ballots turned in for the 5 proposals in the Peachtree Village Referendum passed by an overwhelming margin of 95% to 5%!
Proposal One--The current Peachtree Village HOA Board--Joe Terrell, Mimi Clotfelder, Barry Applewhile, Craig Williams and Brenda Herrick were all removed from office.
Proposal Two--All the Peachtree Village HOA CCRs (covenants, conditions and restrictions) which have to do with the appearance, maintenance and modifications of individual housing, property or any structures on said property were declared null and void.
Proposal Three--Any claim of authority by the Peachtree Village HOA Board of Directors or any of their agents (like the management company presently contracted by the HOA--Goodwin and Co.) to surveil (to "spy on") individual homes and surrounding property or structures on said property is nullified and revoked.
Proposal Four--Any claim of authority by the Peachtree Village HOA Board or their agents (again, like Goodwin and Co.) to demand monthly dues in any amount is nullified and revoked, excepting only the Board's ability to ask for voluntary contributions.
Proposal Five--All home land parcels that have been, up until now, ceded to the the common use grounds (the "greenbelt") excepting the streets, cement walkways and visitor parking, and now reverted back to the individual home owners.
Following the ballot count, an Interim Board of Directors was selected by a 75% to 25% margin of approval. Rick Lannoye was approved for the position of Interim President.
"Now, the real work begins," Lannoye said toward the close of the Rally for Residential Home Sovereignty. "In spite of all the dirty tricks the opposition played in order to suppress our Referendum's turnout (vandalizing and stealing our signs, making false reports to the City of Plano about alleged code violations, letters published on Goodwin and Co.'s portal containing all sorts of falsehoods and distortions, etc.), it's my intention to reach out to former Board President Joe Terrell and the other former Board members to see if they will work with us, instead of against us, especially now that it is clear we have the overwhelming support of the residents in our community (as well as non-resident home owners) in order to smoothly implement the changes approved in this Referendum. It's my hope they will gracefully step aside, and inform Goodwin and Co. to cooperate with us in order to begin addressing the many other real problems facing our community, like the potholes in the streets, the trash passersby dump on our greenbelt, streets, parking, walkways and individual properties, and how we're going to deal with the unsustainability of trying to grow unnatural grasses on our properties, by finding a good, economically-wise alternative to the failed practice of propping up their growth with expensive drinking water."
