Summary of the Peachtree Village HOA's Misdeeds and Crimes
It's not easy to keep up, but the following is a list, in no particular order, of what the Peachtree Village HOA has done wrong, is doing wrong now and/or hopes to do wrong in the future (irresponsibly, morally, ethically, illegally and, in some cases, criminally). As we find out more, we'll update the list accordingly:
Complete disrespect and disregard for homeowner rights and privacy
Financial waste and mismanagement
Usurpation of Board positions without legitimate elections
Aggravating the lack of parking, making it worse, trying to get the City of Plano to and parking on Honeysuckle (a public street), placed illegal parking signs that mimic City signs, and making it falsely appear auxiliary parking may not be temporarily used by residents
Purposely redefining founding document terms to evade responsibility to repair common areas (like our private streets' potholes)
Favoritism and discrimination in making allegations of supposed violations
Dishonest presentation of their goals
Secrecy about spending
Distraction and false blaming any who blow the whistle on their misdeeds as if whistleblowers are the problem instead of themselves who committed or are committing the misdeeds
Taking an illegitimate (if not illegal) Board vote to hand pick ACC members
Illegitimately (if not illegally) attempting to revive an ACC after years, if not decades, of no legitimate ACC in existence in order to intimidate homeowners into surrendering their rights to decorate/modify their homes the way they want (even while abiding the City of Plano’s codes)
Misappropriating $1,000s on legal fees to cover up illegitimate/illegal behavior by current and past “Board” members who should have paid out of their own pockets
Misappropriating funds for the political campaigns of HOA directors trying to get re-elected
Wasting $1,000s for a piece-meal replacement of the old, cheaply-installed, greenbelt irrigation system, only for most of the drinking water it uses to leak out or evaporate
Failing to even ask for accurate information from the City of Plano’s Environmental Sustainability Department about what sort of attractive, native plants could be used to replace the non-native, ugly crabgrass that covers our greenbelt
Spending way too much for liability insurance, part of which, is to cover “buildings” when Peachtree Village has none
Wasting $1,000s to hire FOR-profit management companies which use manipulative propaganda to bully homeowners into submission, to mislead them into thinking they have no homeowner rights, to lie and exaggerate about how much legal authority the HOA actually has and to spy/stalk our homes, disrespecting our privacy and violating the HOA’s incorporation charter as a NON-profit organization
Obstruction of access to HOA records which is RIGHT of every homeowner to inspect at any time during normal business hours
Funding
The Peachtree Village Neighborhood Union is freely supported by the generous contributions from our community's residents and non-resident homeowners. No contributions are tax-deductible, so they are all the more appreciated. To be clear, the Union receives NO money at all from the HOA, nor any portion of any HOA dues payments.
